8 heart-themed games for February: dress a couple, colour a card, match
Looking for Valentine's Day games? This list has eight, and they share a theme: hearts, roses, wrapped presents and two characters trying to reach each other. The play styles differ. There is a dress-up that gets a couple ready for a date, a colouring page you can print, two heart-filled spot the difference games, a mahjong with heart tiles, a block popper and two puzzles about bringing a pair together. All eight run on a phone with touch, all are single player, and all open straight in the browser.
How we picked them
Every February brings a wave of themed games, and many are the same game with a heart sticker slapped on. So we kept the theme fixed and varied the kind of play: dress-up and colouring if you want to make something, spot the difference if you want to test your eye, mahjong and blocks for a calm matching session, and reunion puzzles if you want to think. Nothing on the list is scary or built around fighting. Each entry explains how the game plays, who it fits and how the touch controls work. For the December equivalent, see our Christmas games list.
Dress up and colour: make your own card
Valentines Day Couple
You are getting a couple ready for a date. Pick one character, browse the hair, tops, bottoms, shoes and accessories, and each item you click appears on them instantly; then do the same for the other. Once both are done, the scene switches to the date itself. There is no score. The only test is whether the two outfits go together, and repeating one colour across both looks is the fastest way to get there. If you enjoy this, the dress-up and fashion games guide has more.
Happy Valentines Day Coloring
Hearts, flowers and gift boxes wait to be filled with colours from the palette. Click an area and it fills at once; change your mind and click again with another colour. No timer, no score. The best part is the print option: finish a picture, print it and hand it over as a homemade Valentine's card. Go easy on very dark shades if you plan to print, since detail gets lost, and try two tones on each heart for a bit of depth.
Spot the difference, with hearts
There are two spot the difference games side by side, because they pace the same task differently: one eases you along with a hint button, the other gets harder level by level.
Happy Valentines Day Spot the Difference
Two Valentine's pictures next to each other, with small changes hidden between them. Click where you see a difference; if you are right it gets marked and the counter drops. Stuck? The hint button reveals one, but hints are limited. Look at shape before colour: a missing button or a line pointing the other way are the most common hiding spots.
Valentine 5 Diffs
Fifteen levels in soft pastels, full of hearts. As you go on, the differences shrink, and a change of tone on the same shape counts too. It needs no reading and the early differences are easy to see, so young children can play it without help. We cover what this kind of game offers kids in spot the difference for children, and more picture pairs without the theme are in the spot the difference guide.
Heart tiles and blocks
Valentines Mahjong Deluxe
Classic mahjong solitaire, with hearts, flowers and gift boxes on the tiles. Pick two matching tiles that have nothing on top and a free left or right side, and they disappear; clear the board and a new layout follows. A timer on screen shows what is left, and finishing faster raises your score. Some heart patterns look almost identical, so check closely before you click. New to the rules? Mahjong solitaire rules explains step by step when a tile counts as free.
Hearts Blocks Collapse
The screen is packed with coloured hearts. Click a group of at least two same-coloured hearts touching side by side or on top of each other, and the group vanishes; the rest slide down and form new groups. A preview box shows how many points a group is worth before you commit, so every move can be weighed. Holding off on small pairs to build a bigger cluster multiplies your score. Miss the target and you simply replay the level.
Puzzles that reunite two hearts
The romantic storyline of the list lives in these two: in every level you have to find the right moves, in the right order, to bring two characters together.
Rescue My Love
The hero on one side, the loved one on the other, obstacles in between. In one level you drag an object, in the next you click things in the correct order; each level brings a new rule, so memorising does not help. A wrong move resets the level, but there is no time pressure. Studying the scene before touching anything usually reveals the object you overlooked.
Fish Love Game
Two fish want to meet, but bombs, pools of lava and a grumpy crab stand in the way. Tap pieces to remove them, the ground shifts with physics, and the fish slide toward each other. The wrong order can drop a fish into lava and send you back to the start. Fewer moves earn more stars, and you can take as long as you like to think.
Playing together with your partner
Every game here is single player, but it is easy to invent a few house rules for two. In spot the difference, share one screen and whoever calls out a difference first takes the point. In the reunion puzzles, one of you reads the scene and the other does the tapping, so you can argue about whose fault the lava was. In the couple dress-up, split the characters: one styles her, the other styles him, then judge together whether the outfits match. If you want a true two-player game, head to two-player games on one phone.
