What is BlockStacking?

Each turn hands you a few block shapes to place on the grid. Any row or column you fill completely disappears and gives the board room to breathe. When not one of your blocks fits anywhere, that run is over.

How to play

Drag a block from the tray under the grid and drop it on an empty patch. Blocks cannot be rotated, so whatever shape arrives has to fit exactly as it is. Fill a row or a column from end to end and it clears, adding to your score. If none of the pieces in hand fit on the board, the run ends there. Speed is not the point here; the real skill is always keeping a pocket wide enough for the big shapes.

Tips

  • Start filling from the edges. Single squares stranded in the middle cause most of the trouble later.
  • Place the largest shape of the turn first; the small ones will slot into whatever space is left.
  • Chase placements that complete two lines at once instead of one, because the board opens up far faster.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rotate the blocks?

No, every block goes down in the shape it arrives in. That restriction is where the difficulty comes from, so plan the layout early.

Is there a time limit?

There is no clock, so think as long as you like. The run only ends when your blocks have nowhere left to go.
