Cube Shift: Match the Gap, Slip Through the Wall
📚 Game Guides: games picked by genre, one page each
What is Cube Shift?
You are in charge of a cube that never stops moving. Walls ahead carry gaps in different shapes, and the cube only fits once it has changed into the right one. It runs purely on timing and reflex, and the short attempts are hard to put down.
How to play
The cube advances by itself, so your work is reading the coming wall and shifting the cube into that gap. A click or a tap on the screen cycles through the shapes. Meet a wall in the wrong shape and the attempt ends immediately, sending you back to the start. Speed creeps up every second, so the longer you survive the higher your score climbs.
Controls
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Left click | Change the shape of the cube |
| Space bar | Change shape using the keyboard instead |
| Touch | Tap the screen on a phone to change shape |
Tips
- Watch the wall, not the cube, since picking the shape in advance removes most collisions on its own.
- As the pace rises, aim for one correct click instead of hammering the button into the wrong shape.
- Restart straight after a loss, because the score climbs fast in the attempts where you have the rhythm.
Frequently asked questions
Does it have an ending?
No. The pace keeps rising and the measure is how long you last, so the target is your own record.
Is it a hard game?
The rules land in the first attempt, but the rising speed makes it tough. A few tries and your eye learns the shapes.
